Third Infantry Division Colors Uncasing Ceremony May 18, 2018

The Command Staff and the men and women of the 3rd ID’s Headquarters Battalion were formally welcomed home with an uncasing of their colors ceremony, held indoors at Club Stewart (due to rain).  BG Sean Bernabe, Commanding General, Task Force Marne, thanked those installation staff members who kept the Fort Stewart Post operating smoothly while the 3rd ID Command Team was deployed for nine months to Afghanistan.  He then relinquished his command to Third ID Commanding General, MG Lee Quintas.  BG Bernabe and his family now travel to Germany to assume his next Army assignment.

MG Quintas commended BG Bernabe’s team efforts here at home during the Headquarters deployment.  He also thanked his command team, consisting of BG John Richardson IV, Deputy Commanding General-Manuver;  BG David Hamilton, Deputy Commanding General-Support; Colonel Christopher Boyle, Chief of Staff; and Command Sergeant Major Daniel Hendrex.  Eighteeth Corps Commander LTG Paul LaCamera was also in attendance from Fort Bragg.  As MG Quintas stated, the 3rd ID’s Armor Brigades serve as the “Iron Fist” of the 18th Corps.  A reception for attendees was held following the ceremony.  It’s great to have the 3rd ID Command Team back with us.
