Thanksgiving 2019

Not only on this special day, but every day all year long, we give heartfelt thanks for the sacred grace and abundant blessings bestowed upon us by God.

Among our countless blessings, the ability to live in this nation of freedom and boundless opportunity which, our known warts and all, remains the envy of the world. And if there’s ever any question about that, compare the number of people from other countries coming to America, with the number leaving (in search of their imagined utopia).

Individual freedoms, like the freedom to own homes or businesses or other properties.  To have and raise children, limited in number (or should be) only by one’s ability to afford them.  And to educate them for the first 12-years, in public facilities, at public expense, with ample achievement-based financial assistance for schooling beyond, and with free choice of career studies pursued, rather than all of the above being dictated by a central government.

Ample access to clear air and water.  Ready access to food (with partial government assist, if needed).  And for those with need for shelter and living expense assistance, the federal and state list of qualified welfare benefits is lengthy and complete.

In addition, we have the benefit of ample access to medical care, along with physicians, dentists, and specialists, generally of our choosing.  And with that, the ability to purchase individual health insurance to help with any medical expenses (perhaps with supplemental policies, depending on age), with or without government subsidy, rather than forced choices, and even rationing of care, under total state, single-payer control, as imposed by the blanket-dictates of more fully-socialist countries.

The ability to live within the federal and state rule of law, as outlined by the incredible blessing of our Constitution, created with God’s guidance, by our brilliant founders, men of both wisdom and courage.

With continued thanksgiving for the federal, state, and local first-responders, those skilled and courageous police, fire, and medical personnel, who stand ready, day or night, to protect, save, and assist us.

And the blessing of America’s Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, together, the most skilled, accomplished, and mightiest military force in the world, dedicated to the preservation of America’s freedoms and independence, as well as to that, as required, of our genuine allies around the planet.  And the blessing of this American President, who strongly supports our military men and women, and fully understands the necessity of maintaining the greatest possible strength of our defense, in this regrettably still unstable, uncalm world.

One could go on and on about the sacred liberties and free-life-choices enjoyed by Americans, regardless of sex, age, race, religion or nationality.  In sum, there is simply no better place, in this world, for individuals to live and prosper in freedom, than our America.

As President Trump stated, in part, in his 2019 Thanksgiving proclamation: “The first Thanksgiving provided an enduring symbol of gratitude that is uniquely sewn into the fabric of our American spirit.  As we gather today with those we hold dear…united together as one people…. let us give thanks to Almighty God for the many blessings we enjoy.”

And with that, very best wishes for an enjoyable, and meaningful, Thanksgiving to all….
