Promotion of Army Colonel(P) Marcus Evans

While a damaging hurricane battered the coasts of South and especially North Carolina, an atmosphere of calm and honor saw Army Colonel(P) Marcus S. Evans promoted to Brigadier-General, yesterday afternoon (September 14, 2018) at Club Stewart on the Fort Stewart, GA installation.  BG Evans serves currently as the Third I.D.’s Deputy Commanding General for Support.  Attended by a great number of the Evans family members, the ceremony was presided over by General Tony Thomas, Commanding General of Special Operations Command.  Among other times their careers had touched, then-Colonel Evans had served as GEN Thomas’ Executive Officer.

Along with Third I.D. Commanding General, MG Lee Quintas, his wife, Lori, and members of the Quintas command staff at Stewart/Hunter, the room was filled with fellow soldiers, and fellow Rangers, who had served with BG Evans throughout his distinguished Army career.

Savannahians were first introduced to BG Evans this past July, soon after his Fort Stewart arrival, when he was featured at the annual Patriotic Concert (Armstrong Campus) reading a narrative to accompany the Savannah Wind’s performance of “America.”  Congratulations to BG Marcus Evans as his career moves forward and undoubtedly upward from here.
