Georgia’s 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team Prepares For Deployment

Members of “Georgia’s Brigade,” the 48th of the Georgia Army National Guard, headquartered in Macon, but composed of Guard soldiers from around the state, including Savannah, will very soon (mid-October) send about 2,000 members to Fort Stewart to train-up for the approaching deployment to Afghanistan in January, 2019.

Said a Brigade spokesman of their mission(s): “They (48th soldiers) will be providing security for a lot of different organizations and helping the Afghan people.”  This deployment is scheduled to last for 9-months.
