Anti-America Loonies Continue To Ignore Democracy’s Realities

‘Proud Mary’ keeps-on-rollin,’ and so do today’s evil political fantasies.  But stark reality is rapidly catchin’-on-up with their lunacy.

The Democrat mayor of Seattle seems to think that having radicals take over and isolate several blocks of her city, with their self-installed armed guards, is actually not domestic terrorism, but rather it’s “patriotism.” Yes, and North Korea seems like an ideal location for a summer home (except for the “bugs,” if you know what I mean).  Additionally, she likened the activity inside the confined area of which, unbeknownst to her, she is apparently no longer the mayor, as like a “block party,” and she looked forward to the possibility of a “Summer of Love” there.

And with love in the air (or on the restricted-entry pavement), her fantasy defense continued: “Unfortunately, our President wants to tell a story about domestic terrorists who have a radical agenda and are promoting a conspiracy that fits his law-and-order initiatives.”  Darn that President with his continued push for law-and-order.  Perhaps trapesing through a field of butterflies would mellow his desire for Americans to live safely under that silly rule of law thing.  But apparently the Seattle love-fest may not have totally manifested itself just yet, as “hundreds of protesters, aided by a sympathetic (or perhaps pathetic) city council member, stormed Seattle’s City Hall to demand the mayor’s resignation, just days after seizing the six-block downtown zone.” We may have to wait just a bit for that promised “Summer of Love” to fully blossom.

And, then, speaking of that brilliant leftist desire to do away with local police departments, with some confusion over “defund” vs. dump entirely, activist Mariame Kaba set us straight in a New York Time op-ed, when she wrote: “Yes, we literally mean abolish the police. The only way to diminish police violence is to reduce contact between the public and the police.”  Well, rather than “abolishing” police departments, my dear radical, there actually is a better, simpler, and safer way to reduce that contact: Don’t break the law or look like you might be about to! What follows is an immediate reduction in negative police and public encounters.

Also in Love Boat Island New York City, the NYC mayor’s wife declared that having no police patrolling the streets “would be like a nirvana, a utopia.”  And every liberal’s dream publication, the NY Times, followed up with praise for the “protesters” who absorbed six-blocks of Seattle; “Free Food, Free Speech, and Free of Police”  The radicals had “liberated” the streets there to create a “homeland for racial justice.”  Pretty sure their true incentive was “free food,” fawning media coverage (like this article), and not having to work, rather than the nebulous “racial justice,” which by now has taken a clear back-seat.  One of the other rebel concerns is all of that Seattle-area tech wealth which has resulted in that dreaded “gentrification.”  Yes, gentrification, as in job creators.  Sorry, wrong audience. Where’s the “free food”?

And jumping on the “abolish the police” mini-bandwagon, as reality has a nasty way of intruding on all things blue sky, the inevitable Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) assures us that “American communities will still be safe without cops,” based apparently on her long-standing previous law enforcement career, said no one, ever.  And about that silly old community residents’ safety thing (which is typically the time the conversation turns into “no worries” mumbles).  You see, fellow conservatives, those on the other side of a distant planet, have no fear from removing the police.  Their place will likely be taken, we’re told, by a “community-led public safety system,” focusing on using “healers” rather than police.  Yes, for non-violent calls (and who knows if they turn out that way!), there is actually talk of sending in unarmed social workers, and likely others of that ilk.

Albuquerque, New Mexico, while not doing away with their police, the mayor has just announced that it will “create a ‘first-of-its-kind cabinet level Community Safety Department, that would respond to calls on inebriation, homelessness, addiction and mental health. We should have trained professionals do this, instead of folks with a gun and a badge.” The Albuquerque plan calls for funneling re-purposed  millions of dollars (assume NOT from the police department budget) “into a public health model with civilian-led response.”  In theory that sounds reasonable, and done not at the literal expense of the police. But, while inventive and well-meaning, sending unarmed civilians (social workers, etc.) into seemingly benign calls that could turn problematic or violent comes with a certain amount of risk. We’ll hope for the best and watch for the inevitable: high turn-over among, and, worse, potential injury to, social workers and others who are more accustomed to checking on child and senior citizen welfare issues, etc.

Now for some stark reality on the issue of retaining municipal police officers. Americans do not want to see their police departments marginalized or abolished. Nearly 2/3rds of those polled by ABC News, oppose the defunding (and certainly abolishing) police departments, compared to 34% who back the defunding movement, including in the defunding preference, you’ll note, 55% of Democrats and only 9% of Republicans!  Notice the staggering leftist departure from the reality of safety and law and order.  And on a closely related subject right now, over 80% of the Baby Boomer generation say that “violent protest is not justified,” making us wish that far more of the younger thug generation felt the same.  In a recent Rasmussen poll “8 in 10 said that the top job for law enforcement should be incarcerating criminals.”  So America doesn’t want to defund or abolish local police departments nor jails/prisons, the latter also on the shopping list of the anti-America clan.

And here’s something to think about, especially having just gone through COVID-19- related paper and other product shortages in stores, 79% of America’s truckers have vowed to halt deliveries to cities that seriously defund (i.e., effectively cripple) or disband their police departments, due to the safety risk! That is far from an inconsequential issue, with our economy re-impacted, and increased crime due to shortages.

And on the subject of “privilege” in America, columnist Matt Walsh has these observations from the past couple of weeks of non-peaceful, make that, violent, protests: “Very little effort is made to stop any of these crime from occurring or to punish those who commit them.  It seems to me that the greatest privilege in our culture today is the privilege to be utterly immune from the law.  This is a privilege exercised by many of the ‘protesters.’ While some are white males, many are not.  It is then a privilege that is not dispensed based on race, but on ideology. We might call it Leftist Privilege. A person with the ‘correct’ world view.”

Further thoughts on race, and racial justice, that has been so preeminent over these intense past days of “protesting.” Brandon Straka, the former Democrat and leader behind the #Walkaway movement, doesn’t believe that there is “systemic racism” in policing. “People’s homes have been burned down, people’s businesses have been burned down, and all of this has happened over a statistical lie.”  And here’s but one follow-up example: “According to the Sun-Times, there were 492 homicides in Chicago last year and only three of them involved police.”  You’ll recall the killing fields that were Chicago the weekend of May 31st this year. Twenty-five people were killed in the city and another 85 wounded. “None of these deaths involved police, so there will be no massive protests over them, no tearful commentary on cable news and social media, no white politicians wrapped in Kente cloth taking a knee for photographers,” wrote Wall Street Journal columnist Jason Riley.

Breitbart News writer, David Ng spoke about how “the media have used Floyd’s death to portray America as racist, vilify police officers, and force black Americans into the role of victims.  Many of today’s most vocal black conservatives….have been writing for decades about the damaging effects left-wing ideology can have on black Americans. Through their own personal experiences, they realized that Democrat politicians want to keep racial animosity alive in order to control the black vote.”  Author and historian Thomas Sowell “has warned black Americans that black votes matter to Democrats more than black lives. Racial harmony would be a political disaster for such politicians.” That lays the issue out in stark reality.

And finally, some additional really stark reality on racism and the Democrats, from noted civil rights attorney, Leo Terrell, who does not hold back.  Terrell is reported to have said: “We don’t need Democrats to insult me or placate me with African garb –Nancy Pelosi.  Pass some laws, pass some reforms, show me something other than some kind of condescending act.  You know, this is why I stopped drinking the Democrat ‘Kool-Aid. I can’t take this hypocrisy anymore, it’s ridiculous.  Last point, Democrats, please leave the party.  If you want law and order, you can’t get it from Democrats.”

That takes us from disbanding police departments, to some degree or totally, all the way to the mirage of “systemic” racial insensitivity on the part of the police and, overall, white Americans. From dreamland lunacy, to stark reality, about all of these associated issues, which now includes the foolish claim as “independent,” by force, a section of a major American city. The days ahead will either bring conservative rational alternatives and cooler heads, or more upheaval which, again, is the designed and desired anarchist and Democrat Party game plan for beginning the destruction of our democracy, they hope, in November. There will never be an election more critical for our future than the one coming up.
