Leading off this edition of Quad-B, and perhaps most appropriately, a 53-year-old singer by the name of Macy Gray has actually called for replacing America’s beautiful flag in an op-ed for “MarketWatch.”  She claims that our distinctive, world-recognized, national flag is “tattered, dated, divisive, and incorrect.”  Said she: “It no longer represents ALL of us.  It’s not fair to be forced to honor it. It’s time for a new flag.”  She thinks D.C. and Puerto Rico deserve statehood, so adding two more stars would be swell, among other changes she seeks.

Don’t’ know her, so don’t really know about the “tattered” part, but “dated, divisive, and incorrect” might possibly refer, as well, to this lady, who has clearly reached way down into the bottom of the leftist unhappiness barrel to find yet something else about our great country to complain about.  Replace our national flag?  Total nonsense.  It’s beautiful and represents us ALL just the way it is. And as it has been, in so many configurations, as states were added throughout the years, and as Americans of all races and nationalities have served so proudly under it in times of national stress. It represents originally gaining our freedom, and the untold sacrifices and lives lost that it took, through the generations, to preserve it, for both America and our freedom-deserving allies.  Commented Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert to Ms. Gray’s inappropriate suggestion: “There are 195 countries in the world. 194 of them don’t have the American flag. If she or anyone else hates the American flag so badly, they should pick a flag they like and go live in the country that flies it.”  Among other rebuttals, an effective slap-shot was launched by Lavern Spicer, former congressional candidate from Florida, who remarked that “the last time Macy Gray was relevant, Bill Clinton was president.”  Career relevance may well have been the impetus for the publicity (negative, as it turns out!) resulting from making this ridiculous suggestion about America’s proud national banner, which is fine and flying majestically just the way it is, thank you.

And speaking of challenges to the nation, beyond getting Betsy to knit us a new flag, Attorney General Merrick Garland has announced that “white supremacy” is now the greatest “domestic violent extremist threat,” yet again blaming right-wing conservatives for everything bad in America. Too bad someone in authority isn’t looking more closely at the make-up of the gangs & thugs responsible for the violence in our major cities, specifically, of course, Portland, Oregon.  Pretty sure those folks aren’t moms and dads from suburbia our for some fire-bombing fun.  It’s gangs and thug who tend not be to be true white, right-wingers.  Garland went on: “In the FBI’s view, the top domestic violent extremist threat comes from racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists, specifically those who advocate for the superiority of the white race.”  OK, if we’re told that’s truly the case, then who, specifically, is advocating for “the white race”?  Name names.  Identify who, exactly, is responsible for this white race supremacy threat.  Easy to make claims without facts, and ever-so-convenient for the current administration, as they attempt to suck-up to non-whites.  But calling for facts is when the federal bravery ends.  So, then, Mr. Garland:  Who, specifically, is advocating “for the superiority of the white race”?  Crickets.  Stop blaming conservative whites for every damn thing you liberals think is stinking up America. This claim has about as much merit as the one claiming we need a new national flag.

Beyond the fantasy that its conservative white folks threatening the future of our nation, time to drag out climate change again.  So claimed VP Harris in her recent speech to the graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy.  Yep, folks, it’s our dear fantasy friend, climate change, that is now “a very real threat to our national security.”   So, then, if we put ALL conservative white citizens into the forced labor manufacturing and installing of solar panels and wind turbines, rather than their hobby of trying to burn down and terrorize major cities, we will have solved both major, pressing national security issues, and then America can live happily ever after. National problems solved with them pesky conservative whites finally under yoke and control.

Rasmussen Reports has found that 19% of voters believe that illegal immigration is good for our country! It would be interesting to determine why almost 20-percent see the rampage of illegals across our border as something positive!!  Now, thankfully, although D.C. is paying absolutely no attention, among likely voters nationwide, 60% believe that illegal immigration is bad for America.  Surprisingly, given potential competition for employment, just 41% of black Americans view illegals as bad for the country.  Legal immigration?  70% of voters see this as a positive for the United States. And here we’re looking almost completely at those coming into the country, legally, who arrive with both readily employable skills and fluency in the English language!  Big, big difference.

And how’s this for some severely mixed-up, mis-guided, historically-ignorant American respondents.  Over 30% of those polled now feel that it was a mistake (or were unsure) to send U.S. troops to fight in World War II.  Easy to say, now some 75-years removed from international death, destruction and turmoil.  Attempting to salvage freedom for European nations aside, did these folks not remember (or even know about!) the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor?  Our United States territory was attacked !!  Aside from those not paying attention historically, or simply not caring, and whom, then, we might justifiably conclude are simply “renting” space here in America, rather than being caring, committed, productive, and loyal American citizens, you’ll be relieved to know that a full 68% of Americans polled believed that sending our troops to fight in World War II was absolutely the right thing to do.  Incredibly costly, in terms of human lives and financial expense, but it simply had to be done, both to preserve our nation and global interests, and to return civilized peace to the rest of the world.

And finally, for now, the urgent problem of automobile crash test dummies! Yes, friends, among the other pressing ills facing America, the need to move away from male-dominated crash test dummies (or perhaps just dummies, in general).  Said Washington, D.C. Congressional Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton: “Women have achieved equality on the road when it comes to driving but when it comes to safety testing to keep them safe on the road, they are nowhere near achieving equality.”  Ms. Holmes Norton tweeted further: “Female car crash victims are 73% more likely to experience serious injury or death than males. This is about more than differences in average height.  There are other anatomical differences between males and females that affect how bodies react in a cash.”   While one’s first impression, when faced with a stated need, out of the blue, for female crash dummies, might well be to write it off as still more liberal nonsense.  But, if, in fact, as she asserts, the serious injury or death rate is actually considerably higher than that for male drivers/passengers, it sounds like there may actually be merit in addressing this, and, in all ways, improve the testing standards as they pertain to females in vehicular crashes.
