“Yes, There Is An Invasion On Our Southern Border”
That’s the title of a recent article written by, and posted on townhall.com, by retired Army officer and distinguished American, Allen West. Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution guarantees that the United States “shall protect each of them (states) against invasion.” Wrote West: “It is indisputable that there has been a large incursion into the U.S. since the Biden administration implemented their open borders policy, (with) nearly 3-million illegals who have been intercepted at our southern border.” And that’s not to mention the reportedly 800,000+ who have entered, but avoided detention, known as “Got Aways.” Not only is disease and potential terrorism a very real concern among these illegal entrants, but so is human trafficking and illegal drug supply, as well. CPB is overwhelmed daily and is unable to vet and verify that each illegal entrant is not a disease carrier or a terrorist. Oh, and by the way, it’s been reported that the Department of Homeland Security has no idea where fully one-third of the illegals admitted to America are currently! Rest easy, fellow Americans! It’s almost as if there could be ‘grenade’ pins out there waiting to be pulled at some unknown future date by unknown “guests.” We pray and hope daily that such is not the case. Clearly this migrant invasion has gotten totally out of hand, thanks to the anti-America’s-best-interest policies of the current administration.
On the fentanyl issue alone, West puts this very real danger and threat to America into perspective: “The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. has the names of 58,281 Americans who lost their lives in service to our nation during that wat. In 2021, America lost 71,238 citizens due to fentanyl. Fentanyl originates in China and finds its way to Mexico where the cartels refine and transport it across our border and into the United States. China is supplying a transnational narco-criminal terrorist organization with a substance that is killing Americans.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has decided to act when the federal government won’t. The Texas National Guard and Department of Public Safety there have been ordered to “apprehend migrants” illegally entering the state. In one-week alone recently, 26,000 illegal migrants were stopped by State and CPB agents. The Governor has ordered state agents/guardsmen to “arrest migrants and return them to the border.” By the way, it’s been reported that upwards of three-quarters (75%) of migrants apprehended were single adults. The question becomes is this continuing surge for entry really about humanitarianism, or something else? The Governor, as you know, has also been busing some illegal migrants to the Washington, D.C. area to give those folks a feel and flavor for what our southern border cities are dealing with. Claiming shelters are becoming overcrowded, the Mayor of Washington, D.C. voiced objection to this bussed influx of illegals. Pitty.
Then there’s this other very troubling issue. “According to the UN and Amnesty International, roughly 15% of Central American migrants who seek asylum in the U.S. are children traveling without a parent or legal guardian”! In 2021 alone, American shelters were said to be housing a record 122,000 Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC). One problem here is that some of these kids either wander away or are claimed by supposed “guardians” who then likely traffick them for profit.
And there’s another disturbing issue with unaccompanied minors: Many of them aren’t really minors! “There is also significant evidence that many of the UAC’s are – far from being innocent victims – actually hardened members of criminal gangs.” In one instance, conducted against gangs by ICE: “approximately 40% of those particular gang members entered the U.S. as a UAC or part of a family unit as youth.” And here’s the kicker, likely just one of them: “This kid-migration pipeline – which does far more to endanger vulnerable children than it does to protect them – is costing American taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.”
Now, of all those seeking admission to the U.S. and ultimately hoping for asylum, reportedly only 1.6% of those illegal migrants “have valid claims for asylum to remain in the U.S.” Seeking a better life has never been a valid claim. President Trump had imposed a very successful program known as “Remain in Mexico,” requiring would-be migrants to remain south of our border pending processing and asylum hearings. Mr. Biden executive-ordered that program to be ignored, reimposing the old “catch and release”(in the U.S.) procedure. The courts have now agreed, allowing the administration to permit somewhat orderly entry to all choosing to come here!!
Meanwhile, among the negative impacts on Americans, and there are many (cost, crime, disease, unknown motives, etc.), “millions of Americans remain out of the labor market, new research shows, as mass immigration pours into the United States under President Biden.” Research from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) determined the following: “There are approximately 11.5-million job openings in the United States right now (July), and 14.73-million employable Americans. This means that there are 3.23-million more workers in the country than open jobs.” Roughly “2,370,000 people who left the job market due to the Covid pandemic still haven’t rejoined the economy.”
The report continued: “The rise of Americans on the job market sidelines coincides with record-setting levels of illegal and legal immigration to the U.S. – adding immense foreign competition against employable Americans.” FAIR estimates that, since September of 2020, more than 2.5-milion foreign nationals have joined the U.S. population. That number is bound to be much higher, especially given the large number of “Got Aways.” And, as you might correctly guess, then, the vast percentage of those new ‘foreign nationals’ are illegals coming through our southern border, accounted for or otherwise!
As characterized by others, beyond just Allen West, we are truly experiencing an invasion of illegals migrants, who unlike the vast majority of legal immigrants, will need incredible amounts of federal/state economic, educational, medical and other benefits for a very long time, if not forever. The costs of this unimpeded-by-the-administration’s federally-illegal, stampede across our southern border, go far beyond, perhaps the largest one, and that’s of course economic. We all have to hope there aren’t foreign terrorists also now out there waiting among us. Hate to keep hitting that terror gong, but we really don’t know who is coming across that border, due both to the unmercifully-overwhelmed CPB agents doing their very best under impossible circumstances (totally the fault of this careless, or could care-less, administration), and caused, as well, by the ever-increasing, it seems, number of “Got Aways”!
