Good News Americans #17 (2025)
At the National Prayer Breakfast last week, President Trump paid homage to the higher power that saved his life, and through the heavenly influence on the majority of voting Americans that saved our country, when he referenced the power and influence of faith. Said the President: “From the earliest days of our republic, faith in God has always been the ultimate source of the strength that beats in the hearts of our nation. Without faith in God, there is no American story. We have to bring it (faith) back much stronger.” Hopefully that is happening, and it will continue to grow stronger nationally under the leadership of a true faith-in-God-directed President!
Great news for United States Army recruiting. In December 2024, the Army achieved its best recruiting month in 12 years. This past January, the recruiting number reached the highest month in over 15 years! It seems strikingly clear that “America’s youth want to serve under the bold and strong ‘America First’ leadership of Donald Trump and without the freedom choking stigma of ‘woke’ liberalism. We at last have a genuine, strong, and cleansing Commander in Chief, and America’s young people have not only noticed, but have rapidly made decisions to serve our nation. Just one of many positive changes and actions making waves through American in sync with the beautiful freedom-generated waves of our glorious national flag. Thanks to all of the Americans, now proud to serve once again, and continuing sincere thanks to all of those great men and women currently serving, and who have served in past times of both war and peace. Blessings to you all!!
The President has halted the planned $5-billion EV charging station pipe- dream which was apart of the previous administration’s ‘Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act’ with the intention of dolling out millions of taxpayer dollars to the states to help provide contractors’ build-out of the nationwide system of charging stations. In the end, very few if any such facilities were ever built. Designed to support the Biden group presidency’s intention to mandate a huge percentage of new vehicles produced by date-certain would have to be EV’s. Mercifully, neither the mandate nor the changing stations came to pass. Another example of strong citizen preference displayed and winning out. That ‘Infrastructure’ act was another example of wasted federal dollars intended to support even more ill-fated ‘climate change’ nonsense.
As but one indicator of the EV dreams wrong current direction and rejection by the vast majority of American car buyers, Ford Motor Company reportedly has just announced the 2024 loss of over $5-billion “in its electric vehicle and software business, with expectation of losing even more in 2025.” Ford had already lost $4.7-billion on its EV business in 2023. Despite the EV losses, “Ford’s traditional gas-powered vehicles generated sufficient revenue to keep the company profitable overall.” Ford reportedly currently has only three EV models for sale. It appears the company will now shift at least some of its EV-centered production to hybrids. Thanks to early actions from the Trump administration, the previous anti-American consumer mandate for pure EV’s in the future is now no more. Like previous onerous ‘climate change’ home appliance dictates, another significant win for the rights of consumer choice!
Back around Christmas time, Lowe’s and NASCAR combined forces to deliver over 100 ‘Tiny Homes’ to residents impacted by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. Citizens there were/are still dealing with an estimated $60-billion in storm related damages. FEMA delays in providing adequate supportive assistance to families dealing with the winter weather shelter need caused even further resident suffering. Which might trace back to WH possible intentional political motives, since residents in that area are more likely to be Republican voters! An irresponsible case of Government monetarily chasing its own climate change-obsessed tail, rather than investing in the direct lives and needs of our own citizens. Lowe’s jumped in to help with the housing solution in Charlotte, supplying materials and craftsmen for small portable home construction. Then NASCAR supplied the transport vehicles needed to drive these temporary homes to the NC areas worst hit. Huge thanks to Lowe’s and NASCAR for combining to provide some much-needed shelter. And shame on the apparent relief foot-dragging by FEMA, an agency about to receive a well-deserved internal house-cleaning from the Trump/Musk waste-elimination team!
And thanks to our United States Coast Guard for their continuing efforts to prevent illegal migrants from reaching our coasts by sea, most recently off Florida. But now off California, as well, when two CG cutter crews stopped a boat heading for San Diego carrying 21 illegals of mostly Mexican nationality, with one each Guatemalan and Salvadoran. All were turned over to CBP custody, as the effective stoppage of the recent prolonged rampant invasion of illegals, whether by land or by sea, is thankfully coming to literal closure. Continued thanks from our nation to our Border Patrol agents, Coast Guard and other assisting military forces who are continuing to finally secure our borders from this Biden/Democrat-inspired invasion.
While in line at a Berlin, Vermont Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru, a family spotted a dog in distress in a very close-by river. Dad Chris MacRitchie didn’t hesitate to try to save the dog. Dressed only in a tee shirt and sweatpants, and unknowing how deep the freezing river water actually was, he entered the water (only waist deep, as it turned out), grabbed the dog, carried it to shore, where his wife then wrapped it in a blanket. Said MacRitchie afterward: “I felt I was obligated to at least try to fetch this dog out of the river, as I have two dogs myself, and I would hope someone would do that for them if they were in that spot.” After being reunited, that dog’s owner responded regarding the rescue: “It’s brave, it’s selfless, it’s commendable. It’s everything that I think that we were put on this earth to be. Sometimes I feel like that’s very rare these days.” Out with his family for some tasty donuts, not properly dressed for river work, Mr. MacRitchie opted in an instant to get out of his comfortable car and jump into an icy-cold river to rescue someone else’s struggling dog. A great instance of doing the harder right and instilling a vivid example of what that means in his children who watched.
A 28-year-old Long Island woman, Kayla Masotto, was sitting at home when she observed a man fall off his jet-ski and into the wide partially frozen creek near-by. She immediately retrieved her paddle board and a heavy coat, realizing that she needed “to get to him as fast as I can; the water is freezing.” With her board in tow, she walked out on the ice as far as she could, then paddled out to the man and managed to secure him to her paddle board. Meanwhile some men at a nearby marina rushed to assist. They threw a rope to Ms. Masotto and pulled her and the rescued man ashore. Local fire and EMS personnel arrived at that moment. The FD chief credited her with saving the man’s life. Said he: “This gentleman was already experiencing the early effects of hypothermia, and thanks to Kayla’s actions, will be OK after being evaluated at a local hospital.” Said hero Kayla: “That’s someone’s son. That’s someone’s brother. That’s maybe someone’s dad. I would hope that if it was my family member out there, that someone would do the same.” Thanks to the unhesitating actions of this courageous woman, who risked her own life, a man was saved from the freezing water to live another day. Yet one more compassionate American doing the right thing despite the danger of the circumstances.
Then, two years ago, on July 11, 2022, former pizza delivery guy, Nick Bostic, single-handedly rescued four people from a burning house. “As firefighters scrambled onto the scene, Bostic had already been inside the (burning) home and guided an 18-year-old woman with a baby and two 13-year-old girls to safety.” He then bravely went back inside to rescue a remaining 6-year-old from a separate room, as he did so, “maneuvering through thick smoke and intense heat.” In January of this year, Donald Trump, Jr. discovered the “heart-pounding body-camera footage” and upon seeing it, declared that: “This guy deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom.” Suggesting that this unassuming genuine American hero was far more worthy of this distinctive national honor than way too many of those purely political liberal MoF recipients so ‘honored’ by the White House’s former prime occupant as he, thankfully, headed out the back door. Certainly, if not that national honor, genuine hero Nick Bostic deserves ample thanks, locally and widely, for his remarkable, selfless courage in saving four fellow American’s lives, clearly at the immediate risk of his own. Whether in peacetime or war, in military uniform, first responder or regular civilian, America is a land of greatness, particularly when it comes to unassuming everyday heroes.
