Good News Americans #18 (2025)
Given the current controversy and impact of presential tariffs on our north and south borders, reports now that pro-active Mexico has recently discovered and seized about $6.5-million in fentanyl. Perhaps even more amazing is that the huge quality of that young Americans killing narcotic was discovered “stashed inside boxes of cactus, a Mexican food staple called nopales.” The hidden fentanyl was found during an inspection at a military highway checkpoint. It was intercepted, thankfully, with Arizona as its intended destination. Great catch by Mexican authorities during President Trump’s badly needed life-saving effort to stop this deadly drug from U.S. entry!
Good news re: American’s support for Israel. In a recent survey, 81% of U.S. adults surveyed supported Israel’s “right to defend itself.” And 82% believe that all power should be removed from the terror group Hamas. The survey also reflected on the sad status of antisemitism as a “serious problem” on U.S. campuses. Glad for the overwhelming support for Israel among U.S. adults, but certainly sorry about how highly-infected college and university campuses seem to have become with antisemitism. Unthinkable how disruptive and disappointing this apparent negative feeling regarding that segment of our fellow Americans has become.
Speaking again of our once-vulnerable and effectively wide open border(s), regardless of the Biden team’s repeated and erroneous claims to the contrary, CPB Patrol Chief Mike Banks told CBS News that “unlawful crossings at the southern border are down 94% since this time last year.” Over the past week, “CBP agents have apprehended an average of 285 birder crossers/day along the entire border, compared to about 4,800/day at the beginning of 2024.” With added law enforcement personnel and even U.S. military forces now on guard at our southern entryway, all with thanks to President Trump’s firm commitment, which is tremendous news for the safety, health, and economic security of our nation. A great, real-life example of what genuine, strong, dedicated national leadership can achieve.
Great news about reality-based Americans regarding the biological fact that there are just two genders: male & female! According to a recent, respected Quinnipiac survey, 57% of those polled support the two gender mandate, while 38% oppose it. Now, that’s among all adults surveyed. Break it down among the three voter political sectors, and we find that 96% of Republicans and 59% of Independents support the presidential two-sex executive order, while 77% of Democrats oppose it (i.e., oppose common sense biological reality!). Congratulations to thinking Americans for endorsing historic and Biblical truth and rejecting liberal Woke political fantasy.
Mr. Biden seemingly tried several times to “forgive” billions of dollars in college/university student loan debt, only to eventually be stopped by federal court rulings that such “forgiveness” by the then-chief executive would have “gone well beyond his constitutional authority.” Such efforts on the ex-president’s behalf “would cost taxpayers $475-billion over the next decade.” Getting out from under known accumulated tuition, etc. costs, for selected students, would be like receiving a Monopoly game ‘Get out of Jail Free’ card.
This was just a leftist politically motivated attempt back then to gain re-election votes from the relieved, happy students and their families. And it was totally unfair to begin with, especially to American taxpayers. It’s about personal loan repayment responsibility. Would it be OK and fair for selected politically favored adults to have their home mortgages forgiven? Of course not. Loanees are always fully responsible for repayment plus interest. Forgiveness in student loans is also unfair, specifically, to those with past school loans who worked hard over several years to pay their loans off. And unfair, as well, to the millions of taxpaying Americans who never attended college or did so and paid off the costs by working and/or with parental help. Thanks to the courts for short-circuiting what would have been an undeserved mega-gift to the selective few, while being a colossal and expense unfairness to the many.
And speaking of fairness, on the subject of requiring voter ID’s at the election polls, per a recent Rasmussen Reports survey, 77% of likely voters believe that “requiring a photo (government issued) ID to vote is a reasonable way to protect the integrity of elections.” Thankfully, 86% of Republicans and 69% of Democrats (!) were said to support voter ID rules. Perhaps nothing more important for the citizens of this constitutional democracy than the assurance that elections are conducted fairly, as are the final announced results. One remaining major issue with election fairness has to do with the invention of COVID virus-created mail-in balloting. With COVID long gone as an active daily mass-population threat, it is long past time to eliminate this remaining serious threat to vote integrity. Legal provision would have to be made for legitimate shut-in voters (collected by mobile ballot boxes and/or by trusted emissaries, etc.).
And finally for this edition, some really good news for Army traditionalists. After purely politically dumping the historic names of American military posts and bases, at enormous costs for re-branding, the new Secretary of Defense has authorized the name return of “Fort Bragg” and “Fort Benning.” It most probably took some digging to find suitable Army heroes from the past with the Bragg and Benning names to replace the 160-year-old war’s originally honored Confederate generals. The move to replace, and effectively disgrace, those long-past American military heroes had to be strictly due to Woke elitist political whims. Let’s just forget our past, shall we! You know, stuff like the regrettable, terribly costly Civil War that, however, did end up keeping our nation together back in 1865. And, instead, let’s focus our school/college classrooms on the un-real Woke academic theory that America is defective and destructive, thoughts which are totally untrue and now mercifully past! Oh, and there is one very important fact that is totally overlooked as the Biden folks moved to blot out the memory, or even reminder, of past heroic Confederate generals. And it’s this: Back then, all or most of those later Confederate military leaders would have graduated from West Point and, in pre-war years, served as honorable officers together in the, yes, unified United States Army !!!
